Money savING IDEAS

Food -Now, I know this is an obvious one, but it’s a tip that most people rarely follow through on. Yet, it will save you a fortune, if you just put in a little bit of preparation. PRE-BUY & PREPARE YOUR OWN FOOD! Everything is expensive in the Alpine Regions in winter! Alpine businesses rely on the winter season to carry them through the quieter summer months. Therefore they mark-up their prices exponentially. (support them if you can)
Get a thermos, borrow or buy one ( I found a decent one at an op-shop...gave it a good clean and it works gr8!) Noodles, pasta and sauces, rice.... it's cheap sustenance and it's easy to dress it up into a delicious hot meal. Tea, Coffee, Hot Chocolate... cheap!!
Take a refillable water bottle, the water out of the taps is some of the best in the country & it’s free! Utilise it. Buy cordial if you want some flavour.
If you are with a group, or even if you are by yourself, it can be worth hiring a locker for the day. All resorts rent them. Keep your stuff in it.

Groups - everything is cheaper with numbers on your side. Transport, Tours, accommodation, food...it's the economic advantage. Organise a group and start asking for discounts, you'll be surprised!

Season Pass - I know it's a big outlay but if you're going to be hitting the snow a lot, it does make economical sense...do the maths.

Early Bird Specials - Get in early and get them bonuses

Camping - Not real sure about this one...it could be a false economy. If you already have quality, waterproof equipment, it could be a go-er. You gotta be hard-core or fully strapped for cash, I reckon. Problems can occur like drying your stuff out, seriously bad weather, sickness......I'm not knocking it....I've done it....just being honest!

If you've got a great money saving idea, please contact us & we'll add it to our list. (Please...no dodgy practices, like lift pass cheats etc.)
